Paola Luther is an award winning artist with a delicate touch and sense of light and color. 

​

Paola has been painting since childhood. As an adult she became a professional artist in fine arts attending several years of intense ateliers training in the Washington DC area and Los Angeles.  Paola has participated in multiple workshops with talented artists around the world. She has produced colorful plein-air pieces, commissioned paintings and portraits. Paola’s original works can be found in private collections in the United States and Europe.

 

Paola is usually painting in her studio in Los Angeles, CA.

Paola is a representational painter and paints images that possess a strong sense of emanating light and rich vibrant color. Her current focus is on human figures in the landscape, particularly the beach. She loves the colors that she sees when people are enjoying a beach day under full sun and strong shadows. She simplifies and expands, looking for color contrast and light. She takes reference photos and composes her designs using multiple photos adjusting the colors, adding and removing people, and adding objects that help tell the story. With her knowledge of Photoshop, she creates an appealing atmosphere to tell a story.

Paola is inspired by strong color, the California landscape, and beach scenes. Through her work, she tries to focus on the positive and reveal that which is glorious and special in our state. She looks to tell a story with her paintings, finding beautiful moments in a picture and expanding on those. Her goal is to express a feeling and a mood through her paintings, with her intention for every viewer to interpret the feeling as per their own uniqueness.
