Doug’s artistic journey is rooted in a lifelong immersion in design, craftsmanship, and creation. With a professional background in construction and design-build, he developed a deep understanding of materials, structure, and form—skills that now serve as the foundation for his distinctive mixed media work.

Driven by a desire to push beyond traditional boundaries, Doug began exploring new artistic techniques that would allow for greater freedom of expression. His current body of work reflects that evolution: a dynamic fusion of mineral pigments, metallic powders, and acrylic paints layered to create depth, texture, and luminosity.

What truly sets Doug apart is his innovative use of heat to manipulate and transform his substrates. This process allows him to bend, shape, and contour his surfaces, resulting in pieces that extend beyond the flat plane and into a sculptural, tri-dimensional space.
